Second Heaven Revelation

by Teresa Seputis

What Is Second Heaven Revelation?

Second heaven revelation does not come from the Lord but from the demonic realms, thus the name "second heaven." According to Christian tradition, the "first heaven" is the physical sky above us including the atmosphere and stratosphere and such. The "second heaven" is the realm where the devil resides and the "third heaven" is what we in western culture then to think of as the spiritual Heaven, the place where God resides.

The phrases "first heaven" and "third heaven" are in the bible, but the phrase "second heaven" is not. The Bible refers to the first (or created) heaven quite a bit, such as the creation account in Genesis 1:9,14-15,17,20 and Genesis 2:1. There are many other references to the physical created heavens as well. My favorite is Psalm 19:1, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork."

The Bible refers to the "third heaven" both explicitly and implicitly. We have one explicit reference in 2 Corinthians 12:2, where Paul says, "I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago--whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third heaven." Jesus constantly made reference to "your "Heavenly Father" or "your Father in Heaven," such as Matthew 5:16,45,48, Matthew 6:1,9,14,26,32, Matthew 7:11,21 Matthew 10:32-33, Matthew 11:35, Matthew 12:50, Matthew 15:13, Matthew 16:17, Matthew 18:14,19, Matthew 18:35, Matthew 23:9 Matthew 24:36...just to name a few. He is referring to His Father (God) who does not reside where man resides but Who lives in Heaven (a spiritual place).

If you get out your concordance and search for "second heaven," you won't find it. But the concept of a "realm of the devil" is present in Scripture. That is what we are referring to when we use the popular vernacular "second heaven."

Second heaven revelation is not intended to bring God's glory or to advance His kingdom, it is intended to advance the devil's purposes. The devil imitates many things God does, and 2 Corinthians 11:14 says that the devil can make himself appears as an "angel of light." The devil can also give visions as he counterfeits the true prophetic.

Visions Of Destruction

Most second heaven visions are of large scale death and destruction. They are depicting the plans that the devil has in mind for mankind. This is consistent with his nature and John 10:10 tells us that the devil's job description is to kill, steal and destroy. So he releases visions of his plans of destruction. Some of them will never happen because God does not allow them to, but some actually do take place. Most second heaven visions depict natural disasters in vivid detail, but they can also depict wars, nuclear holocaust, terrorist attacks, etc. They are intended to frighten and torment, and they contain horrible images of mass destruction and death. The messages that come out of this type of vision are usually vague and cryptic, and at the same time very terrifying.

Second heaven visions have certain characterizes, and we will look at three of them.

First, it is intended to induce fear, anxiety or hopelessness. Second heaven visions paint a dismal picture of the future with little hope or redemption in it. The enemy tries to deceive a godly or prophetic person by giving them revelation of his evil plans and desires. The revelation he gives may or may not be accurate/factual descriptions of future events. It doesn't really matter whether or not the information is accurate, because the Lord has not given the prophetic person authority to reveal and counter these demonic plans. The whole purpose of second heaven revelation is to breed fear and despair, to make people anxious, to terrify people.

Second, these type of false visions tend to make the devil's power to kill, steal and destroy very large, while at the same time making God's power and sovereignty seem quite small. The goal is to overwhelm God's people with anxiety and concern and fear and hopelessness about an upcoming event or situation. It wants to tear down faith instead of building it up. In fact, second heaven revelation is intentionally unclean and overwhelming. The devil often targets immature believers for second heaven revelation because they have less experience, and they are more likely to act on the revelation (proclaiming it to others) before they hear from God about what He wants them to do with that information. But these visions can be so grueling and overwhelming at times that they even throw mature seasoned prophets for a loop. In all cases, they make the devil seem very powerful and his plans seem unstoppable.

Third, the enemy tries to give a believer a glimpse of the devil's plans for destruction in an area where the Lord has not given that person authority to do anything about those plans. This leave the prophetic person feeling overwhelmed, worried, and sometimes trying to take on responsibilities that God has not given them, and they try to handled it in their own limited power and weakness. They feel the need to speak the message, to sound the alarm, but all they have to deliver are horrible warning "messages" that they are powerless to do anything about. Often they will try to bring the warning outside the realm of their authority, and people will not take them seriously.

If God wants to bring a national scope message, He will use one of His spokespeople who is already credible at that level. For instance, back in 2000, God wanted to warn the Church in the USA that His people needed to fast and pray regarding the US presidential election; that the future of their nation hung on the results of that election. So God raised up Chuck Pierce, who was respected and considered credible on a national level. Chuck was able to warn the church across the nation, and mobilize them to pray. He could do that because God had already placed him in that realm of authority, and that is why God choose him to carry the message. God did not choose some prophetic beginner from New Zealand who no one ever heard of. God doesn't do it that way--He gives the person with the message authority to speak that message. He won't give you warning messages that are outside of your scope of influence.

But the devil does not operate that way. He is constantly trying to get people to proclaim second heaven revelation outside of the scope of their authority. It is a win-win situation for the devil. From his perspective, the worst that can happens is that the prophet looses credibility and looks bad. Best case, he stirs a large group of believers into fear and anxiety, getting them to act out of their fear instead of being led by God's Spirit.

The devil actively watches for those who hear from God, then he tries to speak to them, imitating God's voice. He hopes to give them horrible warning "messages" that they are helpless to do anything about. Usually the vision is so vast that it is overwhelming, and it always contains massive death and destruction--leaving the prophetic person feeling desperate to do something to stop or lessen the death and destruction. But at the same time, they are powerless to do so.

God does not operate the same way when He releases warning messages; when God gives us a message, He also clearly shows us what to do with it. But second heaven revelation leaves the person with horrible information and helpless to do anything effective with it. second heaven revelation gives a message of impending disaster that is terrifying but somewhat vague, and nothing can be done to prevent that disaster. Most of the time those disasters do not happen within the natural lifetime of the person who received the second heaven revelation, but sometimes they do.

An Example Of A Second Heaven Vision

The enemy gave me one of these visions many years ago when I was just starting out in the prophetic. I had been attending a prophetic conference that was about an hour drive from my house. There was a two-hour break between sessions, and a friend of mine invited me to come rest at her house during the break. She retired to her bedroom and I was on the living room sofa. The Lord's presence had been very strong in the conference, and I was hungry for more of Him. So I decided to pray and seek God instead of resting. I was asking God to speak to me, to reveal more of Himself to me.

Suddenly I had a vision of San Francisco. One minute I saw a typical skyline that you always see on tourist postcards. Then next minute, I saw a huge explosion. I saw what looked like a bunch of fiery meteorites falling down on the city. I saw everything breaking into flames. There were people running down the streets on fire, screaming and sneaking for help. I saw what looked like molten lava begin to flow through the streets, and tall buildings were collapsing as they became encased in this lava. There was death and destruction everywhere. It was terrifying. It went on for a good five minutes. I tried to close my eyes to block it out, but I could see the graphic pictures of destruction even with my eyes closed.

My first response was to pray for protection for myself (I worked in San Francisco and attended church there), for my family and for my friends. I did not have a sense of God's presence around me anymore, I had a sense of terror and a sense of urgency. I wondered if what I saw was about to happen (e.g., the next few days) or if it was far away. Should I get out of town and take my family with me? I started mentally planning what my response might be. Then I began to think about mobilizing people to pray. I almost went into my friend's bedroom to wake her and ask her to pray with me about this.

Then I heard the Lord say, "Teresa, trust Me." I told God that I trusted Him and asked Him to ell me what to do. He told me to "Take a nap and rest." I thought He was crazy. How could anyone take a nap and rest after seeing such a vivid vision of death and destruction? I don't think I slept a wink. However, I did stay on the sofa and I did not go wake my friend. Wave after wave of urgency would flood through me, and it was hard not to jump up and try to do something about what I'd seen. But when each wave hit, I'd pray about it. Each time I prayed, all God would say was, "Trust Me." I would not classify this as a very good experience and I did not have a restful break.

When the break was over, I approached one of the conference speakers and shared my experience with them. They did not seem to take it seriously at all. All they said was, "I think it is just the devil trying to scare you." I stored that in my heart and did not say anything about it for a long time. part of me was concerned that if I spoke about it, I might cause it to happen. Each time I'd ask God about it, He would never tell me to act on it, He would just tell me to trust Him. God did not explain it to me until a few years later. Then He told me that vision was not from Him, it was from the devil who was just trying to scare me, then He began to teach me about second heaven revelation. I have passed some of what the taught me on to you in this teaching series.

Not all second heaven revelation comes in the form of visions of destruction. It can also come as a prophesy of judgment or impending doom. Let me give you an example from about two years ago. Someone submitted a word to me asking me to distribute it for them. They also wanted me to provide them with the email addresses of the nationally recognized prophets in the US so they could send it to them as well.

The attached note said, "Father God woke me up about an hour ago to give you this message... He told me not to wait on this, to send it immediately." And then proceeded to unleash a very harsh judgment word on the United States that predicted the collapse of the golden gate bridge and the physical destruction of all the judicial and court buildings. It went on to call politicians snakes and bloodhounds and it contained this warning "Tell My People to get out of the Courtyard, judicial law-Parliament Buildings. Tell anyone who will listen." It also said, "The United States and it's policies will come tumbling down if they are not followed by My instructions."

The word went on to unleash a whole bunch of judgments against the United States, giving great details to the strategies of the devil in the US government. I only read the first couple of paragraphs before I judged it as a false prophecy, e.g., not a God-word. I felt it was an example of second heaven prophecy.

As you know, second heaven revelation comes from the realm of the demonic. It usually gives great attention to demonic activity and caries all sorts of threats of destruction, judgment, gloom, etc. The purpose of this type of "word" is to frighten believers, and also to discourage them from doing the things God expects them to do to advance His kingdom, or to incite them to disobey God.

There are several problems with the word this person sent me. First, it is contrary to things God has been revealing through many of His prophets about His will. God is not calling the church to separate ourselves from the world judicial and government systems; He is calling us to infiltrate and transform them. This second heaven word asks us to act in direct conflict with what God has been instructing His church to do through many of His established prophets. That is a characteristic of a Second Heaven word--to lead you astray and to get you to do things contrary to God's will.

Second, there should never be such a sense of urgency in a word that we can't take the time to pray over a word and verify that it is really from the Lord. God commands us in His word (1 Cor. 14) to prayerfully judge prophetic words. I cannot imagine delivering a word of the magnitude of destruction and judgment of a whole nation lightly, without praying it through and assuring it is really from God. God would not have to wake up His prophet in the middle of the night and tell them to write and send the word immediately in great haste and urgency. God does not accidentally get behind schedule and have to rush to catch up. God knows all things long before they happen.

The nature of the prophetic is to give advance warning, so there is not usually a great haste to get a word out. God simply releases the word to the prophet at the right time to get it out in a manner that does not require great haste. That sense of extreme urgency of an upcoming "judgment" is classic symptom of a second heaven word.

Third, God does not usually use unknown and untried people to release words of judgment over whole nations. He would use a seasoned, established and respected prophet to speak a word of judgment of this scale. In other words, He would speak it through the prophets who He has already established into National prominence. In the case of the United States, it would be someone like Chuck Pierce, Rick Joyner, Bill Hamon and Cindy Jacobs, etc.

It is not God's style to give a word of that magnitude to someone who does not already have the capability to deliver it on a nationwide scale. This is another characteristic of a Second Heaven word--to release words of judgment and destruction through unseasoned and un-established prophets.

To summarize, a second heaven word is one that comes from the realm of the demonic. These words are generally released to incite fear and to get God's people to act/behave in a manner contrary to God's will. They are usually given to newer prophets who are not yet seasoned, because they are more likely to be taken in by the devil imitating God's voice to them. Most second heaven words of judgment or doom have the following characteristics:

  1. Paints a very negative picture of the future, such as God unleashing judgment or a natural disaster coming, or some other form of mass destruction.

  2. Emphasizes the demonic and what the devil is doing in a way that makes the devil look powerful.

  3. Is designed to incite fear, and to bring warnings of judgment and destruction that cannot be avoided.

  4. Attempts to lead God's people astray by either doing something contrary to God's will or by asking them to stop doing something God wants them to do.

  5. Frequently carries a sense of extreme urgency that wants you to bypass the normal process of praying and judging a word.

  6. Releases messages of judgment and destruction through unseasoned and un-established prophets, instead of through the ones who God has already established and put in place to be able to deliver this type of word.

How Do We Process Second Heaven Revelation?

First, we have to realize that not all supernatural revelation we receive comes from God, some of it can come from the devil. The other side can give dark revelation, and we need to know how to recognize it so that we won't be taken in by it.

The more experience we have, the less likely we are to be taken in by second heaven revelation, which often comes with a sense of great urgency. Someone who is newer in the prophetic is more likely to mistake the devils revelation as coming form God, and to try to act on it. Those who are more experienced have a better understanding of how God communicates to them because He has done so many times.

That is why the enemy often targets prophetic "beginners" or "newbees" for his messages of destruction. He knows that they will be more likely to be taken in by the false sense of urgency and the act on the revelation before waiting to hear clear directions from God. It is important for all of us, especially those who are just starting out, to be cautious in giving any word that does not conform to the 1 Corinthians 14 guidelines (to edify, exhort, comfort, strengthen and build up). When we get another type of word, we need to take what we hear back to God and wait for His confirmation and direction before acting on it. Haste is not appropriate. We must never allow ourselves to be driven by a the sense of urgency that we bypass the normal channels of pressing into God and judging the word before releasing it.

The newer we are in the prophetic, the more carefully we should test any seemingly negative or warning words before acting on them. In short, never rush into action. No "prophet" should ever speak for God before knowing what God wants to say and how He wants His message delivered. We should never act on any vision, no matter how strong or disturbing the vision is, until we have had a chance to go before the Lord and get direction from Him on how He wants that vision handled.

It also helps to realize that there are times when we are more susceptible to deception and times when we are less susceptible to it. E.g., we have have ups and downs in our relationship with God. We have times when we hear His voice more clearly and times where we don't. We have times when we enjoy greater levels of intimacy with God and times when He feels farther away.

We need to be aware that we are more susceptible to being taken in by false revelation when we are on the low end of our spiritual walk. That is because the closer we are to God, the easier it is to hear His voice and the quicker we will hear Him tell us that was false revelation from the enemy. That means that we need to move slower on any sort of negative or warning revelation when we are not in that place of our deep intimacy with God.

Of course, God expects all of His prophets press into Him and try to remain in that place of intimacy at all times. We need that so we can hear His voice clearly and not be deceived. Matthew 24:24 tells us that the devil will do his best to deceive God's elect. It says, "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible."

In real life, most of us have our ups and downs with God. So be sure to go slower to act on revelation when you are not in your "up." I take Matthew 24:24 to mean that it is possible for the devil to deceive us with false revelation if we are not in that place of intimacy and clear hearing of God's voice. Jesus told us ahead of time what the devil's plans are so that we won't fall suspect to them. I also believe that we are entering a season where false and demonic revelation will increase. As prophetic people, we must be very careful to hear clearly from God before we attempt to speak for Him. And we must walk close to Him so that we can hear Him clearly.

Pasturing and Judging Second Heaven Revelation

What About Intercessors?

We discussed second heaven revelation in the context of the prophetic. I hope that did not give you the impression that this only happens to prophets and not to intercessors. The fact is that the devil can (and does) also release second heaven visions of destruction to intercessors. In fact, he likes to do that to get them to stop praying their assignments and to pray against some non-existent threat.

Let me share an example from my own nations history (the USA). The enemy released two second heaven revelations in 1999, just before the turn of the century. They were divert intercessors from their real assignments, and get them to spend all their prayer time on non-existent problems. The first was that soldiers from Cuba were going to invade the USA and overthrow our democratic from of government, bringing lots of bloodshed to our nation and martyring most believers. The second was that the Y2K software bug was going to bring modern technology to a halt and create an apocalyptic madhouse when all of our computers failed. They prophesied that the banks and financial and legal systems would all stop working because of this computer bug, and people would scramble to stay alive--to find food, water and the basic essentials and lawlessness would abound.

Most prayer groups put more emphasis on the Y2K bug than on the Cuban invasion, but some intercessors spent hours and hours praying into both of those things. That was a waste of prayer, because the direction for that came from the demonic realm, not from God. While the intercessors were busy taking their prayer direction from the devil, their real assignments from God were not being adequately covered.

The devil wants to do whatever he can to divert God's prayer warriors from rising up in prayer and intercession. Second heaven revelation is one of the tactics that he likes to use to accomplish that.

Pasturing Those Who Have A Second Heaven Vision

As a pastor, don't act upset, angry or "freaked out" when someone in your congregation comes to you with a vision of mass destruction. Instead, pray with them and help them bring what they have seen back to God, to ask Him for greater clarity and revelation. You should also rebuke any "spirits of false revelation" or "spirits of second heaven prophesy" from getting involved in this prayerful evaluation process.

You should also encourage the prophet to draw and remain very close to God. A lot of times the second heaven revelation comes when the person is out of balance. In other words, they are fighting at a higher level of spiritual warfare than their personal walk/intimacy with God merits. That leaves them more vulnerable to enemy attack and/or deceit, similar to how a soldier is more vulnerable to injury if they go out into battle without their helmet. So help them (in a very encouraging way) to get balanced again, to draw nearer to God, to come into a deeper place of intimacy with Him.

If you pastor a prophetic person who receives what looks like it might be second heaven revelation, encourage them to draw very close to God and to press into Him for more details about what they saw. If the revelation is from God, they will need to be really close to Him to fine-tune their hearing so they can get more information or details or directions from God. If the revelation is from the devil, the intimacy with God will form a screen of protection over them to shield them from receiving additional false revelation. So regardless of the source, a person needs to really press into God when they get a large-scale vision or revelation. That is why you, as a pastor, should encourage them to press to God regarding their own personal walk with Him.

How To Judge Visions/Words that Might Be Second Heaven Revelation

Second heaven revelation can come to you in either of two ways: you might get it directly from the devil, or someone else might get it from the enemy and bring it to you as a "word." Either way, it needs to be judged. Here are a few hints you might find helpful in judging it.

  1. Test it against what the Bible says. If it contradicts the Bible, then reject it. We must never accept revelation that contradicts the Bible.

  2. See if revelation is out of your scope of authority. In other words, if it asks you to speak at a level that you don't have a prophetic platform for, that probably is not God. If it is God, then He will open the doors for you to speak the message. But if it isn't Him, then you will have this big message that you have no way of acting effectively on. That is usually an indication that the revelation came from the devil instead of from God.

  3. See if primary purpose of revelation is to induce fear and to get you or others to do a bunch of fearful responses. Example: the false Y2K prophecies had believers building underground shelters, storing up food, etc. On the other had, the true prophecies from God were telling people not to fear, but to put their trust in Him.

  4. See if revelation has a redemptive side. If it doesn't, then it probably isn't from God. When Jonah went to Ninivah, the redemptive side was that if the people repented and changed their behavior, God would not destroy them. The redemptive side was that they had a way to get in right relationship with God and avoid destruction.

  5. See if revelation is trying to steer your prayer resources off of kingdom business onto a tangent. There are times that God gives intercessors visions of upcoming disasters and then gives them authority to do something about it in prayer. We have examples of that in Amos chapter 2, where God showed Amos visions of upcoming disaster and then showed him how to intercede for them. As a result of Amos' intercession, the disasters were turned. We don't want to minimize or ignore God's legitimate leading. But at the same time, we don't want to take prayer assignments from the devil that detract us from what we are really supposed to be praying for. So how do you tell which assignment is real and which isn't? You go back to God and ask Him to direct your prayers, to show you what He wants you praying for.

  6. See if this revelation is trying to lead you astray from God's will for your life. If it is leading you away from things He has already revealed and spoken clearly to you about, then it probably isn't from Him. Some second heaven revelation is released merely to get us to stop doing what God has asked us to do. We always need to evaluate the current word in the context of what God has been speaking to us repeatedly over time.

Some Second Heaven "Words" Can Look Like Personal Prophecies

Most second heaven words will be corporate in nature, addressing large groups of people. But it is also possible for someone to get a personal "word" for an individual that originates from the demonic realms. At times the wording can sound flowery and attractive, but the underlying message is death. The characteristics of that word will include things like:

  1. It may incite you to disobedience by trying to get you to stop doing what God has previously told you to do or to get you to do something He told you not to do. God is not dyslexic. He is not going to speak one thing to you in a series of words and then come along and reverse it all. He can take you a new direction as you follow Him, but He will never lead you to disobey what He has previously commanded you.

I know some of you are thinking about Abraham, who was first told (as a test) to sacrifice his son. Then when he was about to kill the boy, he was told not to do it, but to sacrifice the animal caught in the thicket instead. That was not a contraction, but a refinement--Abraham still made a sacrifice, but God changed who the sacrifice was to be.

We have to be aware that God will sometimes change our directions, but we must carefully judge any word that appears to ask us to do an abrupt u-turn. It could be God, but it probably isn't. That is why we need to carefully judge the word and take it back to Him for confirmation.

  2. It will try to discourage you with an emphasis on a long drawn out spiritual battle that you will have to fight, or with details of many upcoming attacks of the enemy against you. It puts them in the guise of a warning, but the warning sounding overwhelming and disheartening.

  3. It may ask you to throw away everything you know about God and start over in learning what He is like. That is fallacy. God has already spent a long time building personal relationship with You and teaching you what He is like. He doesn't want you to throw it away and start over. He wants to build on what He has already revealed to you about Himself. If you have a misconception about some aspect of God's nature, He will correct that misconception. But He will not have you throw away all you know about Him and start over from scratch. In fact, that is quite dangerous because the enemy will come along and try to give you some misconceptions of what God is like.

  4. It will often "rebuke" you for something vague with a threat of being disqualified or punished. At the same time, it won't specify enough detail to identify and fix whatever is wrong. Often you won't be aware of any areas of sin or rebellion in your life when you get this rebuke. For instance, it may claim you are walking in sin or have bad attitudes, but won't tell you what they are, and when you prayerfully search your own heart, you wont' be able to find any. Or it may accuse you of not being yielded or submitted to God even though you are doing your best to be and are not aware of any areas of disobedience in your live.

  5. It will often tell you that there is something you need from God before He can start using you, making you feel disqualified until you get it. That will usually be something that is intangible and hard to obtain, like pure character or more maturity. The reality is that God is constantly refining our character, but we won't be perfected until the day we leave our physical bodies and their carnal nature behind and stand perfected before Jesus. God does not expect us to be perfected to use us. In general He starts using us where we are and also at the same time, causes us to grow and mature and be transformed to be more and more like Jesus.

  6. Sometimes the second heaven word will ask us to isolate ourselves from our brethren, mentors and spiritual covering. It does it in the guise of learning to trust only God and no one else. But the truth is that Jesus prayed for us to be one in Him and the bible commands us to forsake not the assembling of ourselves together. God wants us in loving unity with others, not in isolate from them. The devil wants to isolate us so he can pick us off.

  7. Sometimes the second heaven words ask you to jump ahead of God's timing and to do something He wants you to do now in your own strength instead of waiting for God's timing and God's empowering. We have an example of this in Genesis (through it is not a prophecy, but a request from a wife to a husband). God had said that Abraham would be the father of a nation. Sarah was barren and His word did not look plausible. So first Abraham suggested he "adopt" one of his most trusted servants as a son and God said, "No, you will have a son from your own lions." So Sarah came up with a strategy...apparently she was barren but Abraham wasn't. So Sarah suggested he use her slave as a surrogate mother. Abraham tried to fulfill God's promise from his own limited resources and in the process he created Ishmael. He jumped ahead of God's timing to fulfill God's word from his own limited resources, and that caused all sorts of problems.

The devil will try to get us to do that today. He will try to put ownership of God's command on us in a manner that doesn't allow us to be empowered by God for what God has called us to do. When we move in His timing and in is anointing, all things are possible because He strengthens us. But when we move from our own impetus and limited strength, then we will most likely fail. The devil wants to get us to move out too early and fail so that we will be hesitant to move out again in God's timing and succeed. E.g., he gets us to jump the gun and fail in hopes that we won't get back in the center of God's plans and end up succeeding.

In Closing

The devil imitates many of God's things, including the prophetic. The true prophecy that comes from God is intended to breathe life into His people, to draw them close to Him, to encourage them and cause them to grow in Him. It may identify an area of inappropriate behavior that needs to be corrected, but it will show you how to fix it towards the goal of being restored to right relationship with God. It is to build our faith and make us stronger in Him.

Demonic false prophesy will pretty much do the opposite of what true prophecy does. It will breathe death and discouragement and hopelessness and despair. It will make you feel like God is pushing you away instead of drawing you close. It will make you feel that you are disqualified and do not measure up. It is intended to isolate you from God and to cause you to try to stand in your own limited strength. It is intended to destroy faith, not to build it up. It is intended to make you insecure instead of being secure in His love for you.

True prophecy is life-breathing. It is a good thing; we should not shun it or be afraid of it, for fear that the enemy may sneak in a false word. But at the same time, we need to be aware of how the enemy perverts it for his twisted purposes, so that we can recognize false prophecy and not be harmed by it.

Hopefully this teaching series has given you some useful tools to help you recognize and reject the false prophetic.
