Household Salvation

(May 25, 2001)

Back at my unsaved grandmother's funeral, the Lord gave me a promise of household salvation for the rest of my family. At that time I was the only person on either side of the family who knew the Lord.

My dad died about 4 years later, and he came to accept the Lord on his deathbed. My uncle (dad's brother) came for the funeral. We hadn't talked in years and when I picked him up at the airport, he did not know I was saved and he began to witness to me! He had attended Catholic church all of his life, but had recently had a personal encounter with the Lord and became born again. His wife, my aunt, has also come to know the Lord. So I saw the first fruit of God's promise at my father's funeral. That was in December of 1996.

Last night the Lord spoke to me in dream and told me to call my widowed aunt (dad's sister) today. We haven't chatted in years. I got busy at work and sort of forgot, and God reminded me again. So I gave her a call during my lunch break. She shared how she started going to this church and received Christ about a year ago! I was so excited to hear that! She is still young in the Lord, but she appears to have a strong intercessory gift.. she is known at her church as one who's prayers get answered and when ever anyone has a need, they always seek her out and ask her to pray for them.. and God usually comes through for them with the answer! (So I asked her to add me to her prayer list for my upcoming UK ministry trip.)

I was so excited to hear that my dad and both of his siblings have come to know the Lord personally. My family are the last people in the world one would expect to receive the Lord.. and yet they are coming to Him one by one. God's promise of household salvation is true. God is faithful to keep the promises He makes to us.
