“Awake, O North wind; and come, thou South; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out.”
Song of Solomon 4:16
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some think Song of Solomon is just a messy love poem impossible to understand. The truth is there is meaning behind every word. Even why the South wind is called out specifically to blow the scent of spices out and why the setting is a garden. We will uncover the meaning behind this verse later in the article.
Part 1: The Center of God’s Will
The concept of “four winds” might seem old-school, similar to four elements and the “four corners” of the earth; A relic from the ancient times when humans believed our planet was flat. But keep in mind, the Bible does not contain anything by accident. These books were not written to explain the physical world, but rather the spiritual. The reference of “four winds” is by no means a mistake, but you must think beyond a mere tangible breeze. The winds referenced are immense spiritual power and gateways. This concept is not only found in Enoch, but also in the traditional books of the bible:
Revelation 7:1,3 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree….. Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Notice the winds are associated with judgement and destruction and are located at the four corners of the earth. Clearly the Bible sees these winds as far more significant than just bringing a windy day. The winds are spiritual.
Psalm 135:7, “He causes vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth…. he bringeth the wind out of his treasuries”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The verse above mentions the winds as coming from the “ends” of the earth, another way of saying corners. They are associated with “treasuries,” indicating much more than just a natural breeze. When God mentions wind it is very much spiritual. The Bible is a spiritual book and people need to stop trying to make every passage seem scientific and natural when God is trying to teach our spirit.
Enoch’s Gates
Coming to chapter 76 from the book of Enoch, we find something incredible. Here is an in-depth description of the four winds and their attributes, ranging from health and prosperity to burning and destruction. After reading this, we will examine ways to experience the positive effects of the four winds, and avoid the destructive ones.
Enoch 76
Gateways of the Four Winds
And at the ends of the earth I saw twelve portals open to all the quarters (of the heaven), from which the winds go forth and blow over the earth. Three of them are open on the face (i.e. the East) of the heavens, and three in the West, and three on the right (i.e. the South) of the heaven, and three on the left (i.e. the North).... Through four of these come winds of blessing and prosperity, and from those eight come hurtful winds: when they are sent, they bring destruction on all the earth and on the water upon it, and on all who dwell thereon, and on everything which is in the water and on the land.
And the first wind from those portals, called the East wind, comes forth through the first portal which is in the East, inclining towards the South: from it come forth desolation, drought, heat, and destruction. And through the second portal in the middle comes what is fitting, and from it there come rain and fruitfulness and prosperity and dew; and through the third portal which lies toward the North come cold and drought.
And after these come forth the South winds through three portals: through the first portal of them inclining to the East comes forth a hot wind. And through the middle portal next to it there come forth fragrant smells, and dew and rain, and prosperity and health. And through the third portal lying to the West come forth dew and rain, locusts and desolation.
And after these the North winds: from the seventh portal in the East come dew and rain, locusts and desolation. And from the middle portal come in a direct direction health and rain and dew and prosperity; and through the third portal in the West come cloud and hoar-frost, and snow and rain, and dew and locusts.
And after these [four] are the West winds: through the first portal adjoining the North come forth dew and hoar-frost, and cold and snow and frost. And from the middle portal come forth dew and rain, and prosperity and blessing; and through the last portal which adjoins the South come forth drought and desolation, and burning and destruction. And the twelve portals of the four quarters of the heaven are therewith completed, and all their laws and all their plagues and all their benefactions have I shown to thee, my son Methuselah.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now how will we interpret this chapter?
Well, to unlock the secret to these gates requires a trip back to the regular Bible for the “keys,” four of which are as follows:
Deuteronomy 5:32 “Ye shall observe to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.”
Joshua 1:7 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.”
Proverbs 4:27 “Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”
Mark 15:27, And with [Christ] they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We notice a common characteristic here. The “left” and “right” come with a curse. We are to shoot for the center in our life conduct. At the crucifixion, Christ was the middle and two thieves were on each side of him. Referring back to the table of portals in Enoch 76, this becomes clear. The outer two portals are always destructive in some way, locusts, burning, desolation, drought, nothing very fun. The middle gates on the other hand, bring health, fruitfulness, and prosperity. The two outer portals are the “thieves,” ready to rob us of blessing. The middle portal is provision from Christ. We need to be lined up to receive from the center portals, not from the “thieves” to the left and right. How is this possible? By living your life in the center of God’s will, staying obedient to both his written and present word for your life. Modern Christianity downplays the importance of obedience and rightful living and overstates the virtue of “faith.” Faith is dead without real repentance, the book of James in unquestionably clear on the subject. The “straight and narrow” of obedience to God’s will is the middle path, the wide way to destruction, the “path of lEast resistance” is the ditches to the left and right. The “left” refers to lawlessness and sin. The “right” to self-righteousness, overly judging, and the Pharisee mindset. Both to be avoided as we seek truth and balance.
Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Part 2: Fanning into Flame
The next key to operating the wind:
WIND IS WHAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. YOUR COMMUNICATION.
In the Old Testament, prophets often carried a rod and sometimes used it directly in performing miracles. The most notable example is Moses. Many times God asked Moses to stretch out his rod while performing a miracle. There came a time however, when God wanted to elevate Moses to a new level of authority. God one time told Moses to strike a rock with his rod so that water would come out to quench the people’s thirst in the desert. Moses was quick to obey and struck the rock. The second time however, God changed the instructions and asked Moses to SPEAK TO the rock to make it provide. God was trying to get Moses to understand that the true rod of authority was his tongue. Moses did not grasp this revelation God was trying to impart and he struck the rock with the staff in his hand a second time. This resulted in God disqualifying Moses from entering the promised land, because those battled required a leader who knew the authority that comes from the spoken word. Isaiah 11:4 “and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.”
To get flow from the middle gates speech should be constructive, solution-oriented, thanksgiving, praise and worship, in line with the WORD.
Proverbs 12:13-14 “The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble. A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.”
Proverbs 18:20-21 “A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
1 Peter 3:10 “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:”
James 3:10-11 “Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Most people will agree we should not speak negative. But there is a misalignment between peoples’ noble ideals versus their actual speech and walk in this area. At election time we often slander the opposing politician as if 100% of what they say is wrong and he is satan incarnate, despite knowing they do have some good ideas. Show some class and clean up the negativity of your Facebook posting and commenting. We agree gossip is wrong, but do it to fit in with friends and coworkers. It is time to show some leadership in this area. When someone starts to gossip and slander a person, bring up positive things about that person instead of simply agreeing with the gossip originator. Do not let your environment conform you to its darkness, show some leadership and be the change.
Speaking doubt, despair, and hopelessness can trigger the destructive gates. Unfortunately, it is all too easy when struggling and we excuse it as “realism.” Rather than speak the reality of the present, God is impressed by speaking his promises into being for a positive future. During creation God could have sat in the darkness complaining of how dark everything was. Instead he chose to look past the present circumstance and speak “let there be light.” Us being in his image, God expects us to start the same creative cycle of Genesis and when our circumstances are dark we speak light and constructive words of victory, solution, and hope. The light will come. It is incredibly hard when in lack, to consistently stay positive. It is the only way though. We have to “call that things that are not, as though they were.” Don’t give up because it doesn’t happen right away, consistency is key, even if it takes years. Don’t speak positive a few days and then curse and complain when it doesn’t happen right away. Be consistent. Get the wind flowing out of the middle gates of blessing, stop speaking to reinforce the curse and excusing it as realism.
Romans 4:17-18 “[Abraham] believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
People understood that to produce iron a bellows was required. By repetitive cycling of this device, air was forced into the furnace. This is an example of how we need to ‘speak’ repetitively over time to keep the fire of our faith burning to its maximum. We need to get the ‘air’ our ‘breath’ moving. 2 Timothy 1:6, “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” Timothy was not seeing the manifestation of his gifting after Paul laid hands to impart the gift to him. Paul reminded Timothy of the importance of his part in activating the gift. Our promise only exists as a seed until it is activated by our words of faith and actions of obedience to God. You have to “FAITH-it till you make it” in both actions and words.
The Beasts of the “Field”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the above verse, Adam’s authority over the beasts of the field was established by him speaking to them and assigning names (identity) as he saw fit. Likewise our authority over these forces is only established through what we speak. There is a hidden parable here in which the “beasts of the field” are the random elemental forces in the universe. Misaligned and disorderly their great strength is wasted and to no effect. They are looking for direction. Animals are often stronger than humans but we have power to bring them under our control to use their strength for our purpose. Before machinery existed, animals such as oxen were the only way to get very heavy things moved.

Iron is a metal of great strength, but to create a magnetic field in it the iron must be stroked with a magnetic rod many times consistently until the internal domains of the iron are aligned (you may have done this in a science lesson as a child). Consistency and repetition is key. When hearing a message on speaking in faith and authority the normal pattern is that a person will do it good for a few days and then get distracted or give up. The environment won’t align to the magnetism of your word unless there is enough consistent repetitions. Moving the rod in the faith direction three days, and in the doubt and frustration direction two days will undo all the progress and leave the field disorderly, unable to project power; this is why many see no results. It’s not that God doesn’t stand behind his principles, its that we give up too easy and find them hard to follow with consistency.
“Anemos” was a Greek word for wind, leading to our word animus. Notice the similarity to the word “animals” (beasts of the field). Your words, the wind from your mouth, is how you control these forces and bring the strength of the beasts of the field into subjection for your positive purpose. The rod of the mouth (tongue) magnetizes the “field.”
The Four Corners of the Earth
When the Bible speaks of the earth having “four corners” Christians often downplay it or try to say it is just poetry, from fear of accusations of being a “flat earther.” Although it may seem fun to scoff at flat earth believers, some of them will have the last laugh because although it is true the physical earth is round, the spiritual is a plane with four definite corners. In fact, scientists have discovered the universe IS FLAT. This was considered mathematically almost impossible but yet has been proven true recently.
The corners are centers of tremendous power full of angelic and demonic activity. In addition to the winds there are also four rivers of Genesis 2:10-14 but these are outside the scope of this article. (They are spiritual rivers and proceed from these same four corners). The Earth's corners are tremendously powerful and the workers of darkness are well aware of this and they invoke the “Watchtowers” at the beginning of a wiccan ritual. The reason they are called Watchtowers is clear when we learn about the Watcher class of angel.
The four archangels watch over the corners and are opposed by a group of powerful demons known as the Four Royal Stars of Persia”
At the East corner is archangel Raphael who is opposed by demon Aldebaran.
At the South is the strongest archangel Michael and his opponent the strongest of the four major demons, Regulus.
At the North corner is archangel Uriel; his demonic opponent is Fomalhaut.
The West corner is watched by Gabriel, who is opposed by Antares.
Each archangel and archdemon has innumerable legions under them which are in constant war against each other.
The demons at the four corners are known as the “Watchers” and the book of Enoch describes their fall. Some of them stayed loyal to God and the book of Daniel also mentions this Watcher class of angel. The demonic Watchers constantly observe and record everything a person says and does, looking for any possible justification to open the gates of curse and close the blessings over that person’s life.
The Key to the Winds
The four gates of Enoch are four manners of speaking that creates blessing or destruction.
THE GATE IS YOUR MOUTH AND THE WIND IS YOUR WORDS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
East Gate
The East wind is the first and most important out of the winds. The East wind is the one mentioned by far the most often throughout the Bible. This gate is at the head of the day and rising sun. Just as the head controls the direction of the body, the head of the day sets the direction the day will go in. This gate relates to timing and being early in things. Think of how powerful a first impression is. Workers who show a bad attitude in their first few weeks of work never have a chance to make it right; the boss will always consider them a bad worker even years later. Getting things right from the beginning is so important. To access the East gate for good is only possible by speaking positive words early in the morning. Understanding prayer watches will be useful here. The gate opens during the fourth watch 3 to 6am. (This is why you will sometimes be woken up at 3am with a strong urge to pray or led to set your alarm early in a season. Don't ignore these leadings, time is of the essence). It is usually also powerful between 6 to 9am but after 9am the gate fully shuts. Usually the four day prayer watches are less powerful than the night watches, but the 6am to 9am one is an exception to this rule. I have often noticed great power in prayer at this time. Now there is an exception however and because angels watch over these gates and see your situation, for those on nightshift or weird schedules the gate is still open for you in the FIRST HOUR of your waking day, whenever that is. The head of the day is a very important time for what words are spoken for good or evil. The worst thing you can do is complain or say anything negative at all upon waking up. Give God thanks each day when you wake up and speak a positive direction into your day.
Job 38:12-13, “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Notice in the above verse, commanding the morning with your prayer and positive words of victory is associated with taking authority over the ends of the earth (the gates at the four corners) and shaking out the wicked demonic forces that are opposing you.
We are often full of old dead habits and stale routines which take up so much time. The morning is the time to “unfreeze” these structures by making positive declarations. Think of the ideal way your life and day should be without all the distractions and bad habits. Now speak those words of victory that this is your direction and you will not fall for satan’s snares. For example “when I have free time today I will read a few chapters in my Bible app rather than scroll social media.” Whatever your ministry and career goal is, never say you “can’t” do it. The word can’t should be added to your list of swear words; it is one of the worst curses you can say over your life. One of the reasons apostle Paul was so powerful is he always claimed he can do anything since Christ is in him.
Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Paul did not say he can only accomplish things in his area of strength and expertise but give up in defeat everywhere else. He trusted God to empower his weakness also.
2 Corinthians 12:9 “And [God] said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
Too many of us only speak positive about our main strength but speak negative and “I can’t” about weaker aspects of us, self-inflicting cycles of defeat in areas which God has grace avaiable for victory.
Actions also can speak louder than words and obeying God promptly allows the blessing of the East to flow. Procrastinating and waiting for the last minute to do what God led you to do will shut this blessing portal. Showing up late for church, work, and appointments also blocks the blessing of the East gate.
South Gate
The South gate is words spoken in humility and respectfulness. South is considered the “down” direction on a map, signifying lowering of oneself. Sarcasm is not okay with God and if you enjoy a lot of sarcasm you will have to find another source of entertainment. Arrogance and boastfulness awakens the curse. The Bible says “Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; A stranger, and not your own lips.” (Proverbs 27:2) Sometimes arrogant prayers of telling God you “deserve” more can also trigger the curse, blocking the blessing gate.
The South gate is a social portal. Whereas the North gate looks at you standing boldly in your authority as an individual, the South gate blesses based on your humility and openness to others (including God).
How we speak to others and treat others is far too broad a topic to really cover here, but keep in mind that all of it is watched and judged by the angels of this gate. Its time we return to the WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?) mindset and begin asking if the way we speak to and treat others is in line with what the saviour would do in that circumstance.
When was the last time you prayed on your knees? Yes, your physical knees? Repentance prayers, prayers for deliverance and help are meant to be prayed literally on the knees. The posture really matters. God looks at this when judging your level of humility.
The Eastmost out of the three South gates here is anger. What Enoch calls the “hot wind.” When you are a believer, cursing at people will trigger a curse for you. When the food at the restaurant comes back incorrect, God is watching to see if you stay in composure for Christ or go off on an angry mad rant to the poor service worker. Dissatisfaction, expectations, and consequences can be stated politely. We must have mastery over our emotions as believers, especially the anger emotion.
North Gate
The North gate is opposite of the South and instead of the low it relates to the high. The North is where God’s throne is, which both the Bible and book of Enoch teach. The Northern lights, the aurora, are a symbol of God’s glory around his throne. The North gate is activated by understanding your authority in Christ, that you are seated in heavenly places with him.
Ephesians 2:6 “and [God] raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a faith-gate, where your confidence in your level of relationship with God is paramount. Speaking words hoping to manifest something but then doubting yourself or whether it may come to pass and giving up, will weaken the power of this gate. You have authority over the universe. Keep speaking creative words of power and victory with persistence, knowing it will happen. Get rid of all the “what if’s?” from your mind. Take what action you can and for the rest, cast your cares on God. Worry is wasted mental effort and does not help solve the problem; that why Christ taught us that worry is a sin.
Consistency in words activates this gate. Being persistent and consistent in what you speak without giving up and returning to complaints. Speaking positive is free so sometimes the price you pay is in time. It can happen right away but sometimes the manifestation takes time and you cant return to speaking doubt in this time and expect the blessing.
Blaming God for unanswered prayer also weakens your authority. In the New Testament you do not pray for most of your needs, but speak to creation to manifest them. The Lord’s Prayer is actually very simple and all it asks of God is for forgiveness of sins and to give us something to eat. Requests more than this we can pray for but should not get angry if the prayer is not answered. Just use the power God put within you to make those things appear. God is more pleased when you pray for others rather than yourself. For yourself, beyond praying for the basics its better to use your authority to make it manifest. This is the power of the North gate.
Taking ownership of your bad choices increases your authority. In Genesis, Adam and Eve lost their authority over the earth because when their sin was exposed they made excuses and transferred the blame rather than taking ownership of the mistake. The serpent was the only one who accepted his punishment without complaining or shifting the blame. Thus although the serpent (satan) was the most guilty of the three, he nonetheless was given authority over the earth instead of Adam, because the serpent did not shift his blame to anyone but took ownership. When in a bad place with God or a human relationship, the best thing to do is take ownership of your mistake and repent, rather than make excuses. Your spiritual authority will increase greatly this way.
One more thing, the authority of your spoken words is increased or decreased based on whether you keep promises and obligations or go back on them. How reliable would others say your word is? Do you often make promises to your kids and go back on them? Lying weakens your words power also and sharing others lies on social media. In enthusiasm its so common for people to share everything positive about their favorite politician, or even the wildest beliefs of a beloved conspiracy podcaster. God wants us to be more discerning. Next time you want to hit the “share” button, consider the effect it has on your spiritual authority and in weakening the power of your words to produce.
West Gate
The West gate is thankfulness because it's the setting sun and response to what has already happened. The two malevolent side gates are of course related to ungratefulness, complaining, and coveting. Oftentimes we compare our lives with someone more successful and say we will wait to give God thanks until we reach their level. What God is looking for is thanksgiving for even the smallest little things as an act of worship to him.
The keeping up with the Joneses mentality can close this gate. Having your eyes on someone else’s blessings means you are not focused on giving appreciation to God for yours.
A grateful positive person will always find something to be thankful for and a bitter negative person will always find a reason to complain even in the best of times.
The West gate receives the setting sun and is open in the evening and end of your day; a time for giving God appreciation for protecting you throughout the day as well as appreciation for whatever good things (even the small things) and lessons learned happened during the day.
The West gate relates to forgiveness. The Bible states do not let the sun go down on your wrath. Before going to sleep, whatever enemy vexed you you can bring that burden to God and pray for God to lead the enemy to Christ. Sometimes talk to them in person if you can and you might even make peace. This is especially important if the wound is from another believer. Don’t be a smartass and pray for God to give them “extra trials so they can grow in you” as a method of hidden vengeance; only an apostle is allowed to request trials from God for a person in disobedience. You may get away with some unforgiveness to a non-believer, but for a fellow brother in Christ forgiving freely is an absolute requirement. The end of day is the perfect time to check your heart for “aughts” held against others. If not dealt with, this aughts will fester into resentment followed by the worse bitterness which is a death and decay of the soul.
The blessings and curses of the winds (Enoch 76)
Proverbs 1:27, “When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as the whirlwind.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DROUGHT = Doubt
DEW = Manna. Present-tense revelation and provision (enough provision to get by but not overflowing)
RAIN = The raindrop is God’s seed for growth
LOCUSTS = Demonic attack (Revelation 9, book of Joel)
DESOLATION = Your life is preserved, but environment destroyed
COLD = Fear
FROST = Paralysis / afraid to move ahead out of comfort zone
SNOW = Impeded by circumstances from moving ahead
HOT WIND = Temper, lack of peace
CLOUD = Confusion, lack of direction
FRAGRANT SMELLS = Garden of Eden. Enoch 76 mentions these only come from the North and South gates. Song of Solomon 4:16 calls to awaken the North wind, followed by summoning the South wind to blow through his garden to carry the scent of the spices out. Enoch 76 teaches the South wind is the only one which releases fragrant smells as its blessing. Now we see why Solomon called the South wind out specifically to release the scent of the spices from the garden. It's known that Song of Solomon is a metaphor for Christ's relationship to his bride. Thus the garden mentioned is EDEN, the place God prepared for humanity to live in communion with him.
FRUITFULNESS = Increased productive capacity (life and ministry)
HEALTH = Physical/mental/emotional
PROSPERITY = Growth and sufficient resources
Note the “dew and rain” phenomenon appear out of both the good and evil portals. This shows God’s nature of “making his rain fall both on the just and the unjust.” This allows us to gain revelation and growth from our sin and mistakes.
Matthew 5:45 “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Leaders in Authority
For those called to positions of authority and especially the apostolic, it is even more crucial because YOU become the spiritual gateway for your region. When you allow one of the evil gates to open, it does not just affect your own life but allows demonic attack against your entire region and its people. That’s why obedience and watching your words is so crucial to anyone operating in this type of assignment. Remember when king David sinned by numbering his subjects? (1 Chronicles 21). He himself was allowed to live, but it caused the loss of a large number of lives of his subjects. So for those in authority, be advised the importance of keeping the middle gates open and outside gates closed goes beyond just staying blessed yourself; it affects everyone under your authority and in your environment.
